Center of excellence for China Pakistan Economic Corridor (COE CPEC) in collaboration with CIET international (www.ciet.org) arranged a two days International workshop titled “CPEC and the use of Advance Social audit methods” on 12th  & 13th  September 2017. It was the first initiative of its kind for CPEC to provide basic information about social audit methods for data collection and electronic data gathering. Dr Asad Zaman (VC PIDE), Dr Shahid Rashid (ED COE CPEC), Dr Khalid Omer (CIET coordinator for South Asia and West Africa ), Professor Ameer Khan (Policy Head COE CPEC) along with other participants from PIDE, Planning Commission, civil society and think tanks attended the workshop.

This workshop was organized at the backdrop of an unforeseen and unfortunate incident occurred at the Awami Markaz on Sunday 10th September, 2017 when the building caught fire in which the previous office of COE CPEC was located. It was no less than a miracle that the COE CPEC straightaway without any lapse and delay started working at its newly established Pak-China study Centre, Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) at QAU, Islamabad with the same zeal and zest. All the official proceedings are carried out smoothly and efficiently and the concerned ministry and other related organizations have been notified for the change of address of COE CPEC.
