Meeting with Dr Nasir Javed, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Urban Unit, Planning & Development Department, Government of Punjab

The Urban Development Division at Centre of Excellence-CPEC (CoE-CPEC) headed by Dr. Saleem Janjua has arranged a series of meetings with the relevant stakeholders. The objective of these meetings is to introduce CoE-CPEC, and create liaison for future research collaborations.

In this regard, a meeting was held between Dr Nasir Javed, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Urban Unit, Planning & Development Department, Government of Punjab and Dr. Saleem Janjua, Policy Head Urban Development, CoE-CPEC on 08-05-2017 at the Urban Unit Lahore. The meeting targeted at creating liaison and future research collaborations between the two institutions. Presentations from both the institutions were given, and research ideas were exchanged.  The highlight of the meeting was that it was proposed that the 4^th Urban Forum titled “CPEC and Urbanization” dated 12^th-13^th September, Quetta, Baluchistan will be jointly planned and held by the Urban Unit-Lahore, Government of Punjab, University of Baluchistan, Government of Baluchistan and Centre of Excellence-CPEC (CoE-CPEC). For the execution of the forum, meetings between the four stakeholders will also be conducted at CoE CPEC.

Dr Saleem Janjua, Policy Head Urban Development, CoE-CPEC also conducted a meeting with Mr. Imran, Chief, Urban Development & Environment, Planning and Development Department, Government of Punjab on 09-05-2017. The mandate and research priorities for CoE-CPEC were discussed. It was agreed that future research projects would be on collaborative basis.
