Research Delegation Visit from National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA), Islamabad

 CPEC, Centre of Excellence, China Pakistan, Pak-china friendship, COE CPEC, China Pakistan Economic CorridorA delegation headed by Vice Admiral (Retd.) Syed Khawar Ali Shah HI(M), Director General of National Institute of Maritime Affairs, (NIMA) accompanied with his team of researchers visited Centre of Excellence for CPEC with the Executive Director of Centre of Excellence for CPEC on 10th of May 2019.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss about the role of CPEC in Shipping Sector Development, Maritime Tourism, Fishing Sector Development, Local Community Development, Ship Recycling and other activities related to the Maritime. The researchers exchanged their findings regarding various aspects of blue economy in context of CPEC which inhabit to promote the smooth transition of development in the field of Marine.

Dr. Ejaz Ghani, Executive Director Centre of Excellence – CPEC highlighted role of CPEC in development of Sea Ports of Pakistan and the contribution in their productivity and potential. The meeting ended up on a very productive discussion and it was decided that a data base will be developed collaboratively to retain and use fragmented information available with different stakeholder. It was also decided that collaborative studies will be carried out between both institutions to foster blue economy of Pakistan.
